National Doughnut Week is traditionally celebrated to raise money for charity, and used as an excuse to eat numerous doughnuts for a good cause. Sadly due to COVID-19 the annual fundraiser has been cancelled – but that doesn’t mean you need to miss out on eating doughnuts to support some amazing vegan businesses across the UK. Here’s our round-up of who’s still delivering.
A staple in London for vegan doughnuts, Crosstown make both vegan and non-vegan doughnuts, and if you’re lucky enough to live in London they now offer delivery. Vegan options include dark chocolate truffle, cinnamon scroll and peanut butter & blackcurrant compote, and you can choose from their Working From Home Box, a Vegan Selection Box or a Vegan Gift Box to treat your favourite vegan to. They also have The Craft Box, which includes ground coffee and granola, milk alternatives, a small veg box and six Crosstown doughnuts. It’s the perfect lockdown solution. Six doughnuts start at £22, and you can add coffee – or pimp it with Prosecco!
Doughnut Time whip up the kind of doughnuts that make your heart skip a beat. Those doughnuts that you can’t quite believe are vegan. We’re talking doughnuts you need both hands to hold, piled high with chunks of cookie dough, or oozing with caramel Biscoff. For the more reserved, there’s a cinnamon butter and sticky maple glaze delight, or a jam filled, cinnamon sugar dusted classic. Over lockdown they’re sending out DIY home kits so you can continue to enjoy their range at home – at the moment it’s The Biscoff Kit, but keep checking back for flavour updates. Vegan DIY kits are £22.
Tastopia are available for delivery in London, but only contactable on Instagram so drop them a message to order some of their fantastic donuts. Flavours include dulce de leche, blueberry macaron, apple cinnamon crumble and snickers, and a box of 8 is £25 (choice of 3 flavours) and a box of 12 is £35 (choice of 4 flavours).
