Pamela arrives at Patty & Bun

The vegan options keep on rolling as burger chain Patty & Bun launch their latest plant based option ‘Pamela’ in all nine of their high street restaurants.

Who knew vegan food could be so filthy? You’re looking at vegan bacon, a plant protein patty, spicy mayo, vegan cheddar, white onion & pickles, tomato, lettuce and ketchup all in a bonsoy bun. Last year Patty & Bun launched the Whoopi Goldburger which is still on the menu but confusingly marked ‘Plant Based’ at some venues and ‘Vegan’ at others, so make sure you check with your local branch if you want Whoopi.

Patty & Bun have teamed up with meat-alternative experts THIS to create the bacon for Pamela, and they’re also serving their ‘chicken’ nuggets on the side, too. THIS are burger experts themselves, their first start-up being Chosen Burger where they served the real deal before realising that plant-based was the future and it needed to include really good alternatives to tofu.

“We’re divorcing ourselves from tofu and traditional vegan foods to create something meat eaters will love.”

You’ll find THIS’s bacon in Holland & Barrett from June, and fingers crossed the rest of their product range will follow – including chicken rotisserie pieces, panko-bread-crumbed goujons of chicken, sea salt & black pepper chicken pieces and chicken tikka pieces.
