Honest Burgers’ roots began in Brighton in 2010, when owners Tom Barton and Phil Eeles pooled their money together and served their first burgers at Brighton Food Festival. They refined their recipes and perfected their rosemary salted chips, and in 2011 moved to Brixton to open their first bricks and mortar restaurant.
Since then they’ve opened over 30 more, and on the 25th February Brighton will join the list, making it the 5th city – joining London, Reading, Bristol and Cambridge.
They might be known for their meat menu, but their vegan options are notoriously good – and by the sounds of it, Brighton are in for a treat.
Honest Burgers offer one 100% vegan option (above): a vegan burger from Beyond Meat with vegan smoked Gouda, Rubies in the Rubble Chipotle ‘Mayo’, mustard, red onion, pickles, lettuce. £11.50.
They also offer a vegan-version of the Fritter 2.0: Cauliflower, sweetcorn & chickpea fritter, Cheddar, lime and coriander mayo, hot sauce, red onion and lettuce. £8.50
We’ve heard there will be an exclusive new vegan and vegetarian menu just for Brighton – dishes yet to be announced! £TBC
Their chips, onion rings and side salad are all vegan, too – they even have a vegan option chipotle mayo!
