Never mind advent calendars and tinsel – we’re more concerned about the drop in temperature and the snow! We’re leaving for work in the dark and arriving home in the dark, soup is the dish of the day and we’ve even cranked the fire on. We’re looking down at our autumn trainers, brogues and pumps and wondering how many days we have left before we start losing some toes. Instead of hoping for the best, we hopped onto the internet and found our top five favourite brands that we can trust to keep our toes intact and our feet dancing through the rain, sleet and snow.
Beyond Skin
Beyond Skin serve up some of the best vegan footwear on the market, for any occasion. From bridal shoes to summer staples, winter warmers to classic workwear – there is nothing they can’t deliver with class and style.
These over-the-knee black chunky heels are made from vegan faux suede, are water resistant and have a 100% recycled, breathable faux leather lining. What a way to start the season.
The Elf, £249.
These wide leg knee high boots offer flexibility in the fit, with an elasticated calf and side zip for comfort. A true classic for work or play.
The Sary, £165.
We love these grey faux sheepskin boots! With just enough throwback to the 70s, the white piping slides down the front and the back of the boots, and for those of us who just can’t face the cold, the faux sheepskin lining means we’re ready for whatever the weather brings.
The Farah, £250.
Bourgeois Boheme
These guys have been getting better with age! Bourgeois Boheme were one of the first vegan shoe brands to launch in the UK, and each season brings more exciting styles and innovative fabrics.
These black block vegan leather heels are what your office wardrobe has been crying out for. The camel sole and stitching detail give a nod to Dr Martins (more of that later), whilst remaining a true classic.
Emily, £245.
A statement boot that’s comfy and waterproof: it’s everything you’re looking for in a vegan chelsea boot and more – including being burgundy.
Matilda, £190.
Described as a “happy marriage between a Chelsea and a Creeper”, we love these black vegan leather boots. The chunky platform sole saves you on rainy days, and the side panels make them a comfy classic perfect for work and play. These boots were made for stomping (and wearing with a pretty dress).
Alanis, £180.
Matt & Nat
Better known for their bags and accessories, Matt & Nat now have their own shoe line featuring flats, sneakers and boots, and it’s all just as timeless and sophisticated as their accessories.
You can find Matt & Nat’s range of vegan boots on their website, and while you’re there, explore their full range of shoes.
Good Guys
Good Guys have been doing their thing since 2010. Loved by the likes of Emma Watson, their alternative take on smart-casual boots and trainers will make sure you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons.
These black leather wedge boots give you that extra lift when the seasons are against you. With elasticated sides and a rubber sole, these look set to be comfy enough to last us through the seasons (and let’s face it, it’s England – we’ll be wearing these all year…)
Wanda, €155.
Could these red tweed wedges be any cuter?! Fine, they may not be practical when it’s raining, but for any other day you’ll find us brightening up our all-black uniform with these beams of tweed sunshine.
Poni, €175.
Mix things up on the classic boot with these faux suede heeled beauties. Perfect for party-season paired with a glitzy dress, or smarten up a day in the office with black jeans or glossy leggings.
Nina, €149.
Nae
If you’re looking for designer-inspired shoes with an affordable price tag, Nae are the ones for you. Their strapline is ‘Fashion with Compassion’, and we couldn’t agree more.
OK, we might be veering waaay off the winter warmer track here – but sometimes it’s slightly warmer, and sometimes you need elevation, and sometimes you need triple layer flatforms. And when you do, these will be waiting for you.
Sandra Black, €137.
With just a gentle nod to those Balenciaga classics, these black strapped booties make any rainy day exciting and puddle-splashingly great – or go one step grungier with Luce Black.
Tess Black, €125.
These faux-fur boots are giving us sweaty ankles just looking at them; they look so cosy, and the neat trim smartens them up. It’s true love.
Mira Grey, €125.
So there you have it, everything you need for a warm and stylish winter! Sorry, Mister Postman – we’re expecting a lot of shoe box deliveries…
