Editor's Letter

Editor’s Letter: It’s finally here!

It’s been quite a while in the making, let me tell you. From an initial *ping* of an idea to – maybe I should do it? – to – I should do it – and then: when am I going to get this finished?!

With 10 years of blogging behind me I knew what I wanted to achieve, I just needed to get going. Eventually I gave myself a deadline. Then I set a reasonable deadline. Then I made a to-do list. Then I made a pre-launch to-do list because, you know, lists of lists make to-do lists all the more fun. Then I started ticking things off my to-do list(s) and wham! Before I knew it The Nod Magazine was live and I was rolling out the green carpet for this here website.

Every week I receive messages asking for advice on how to go vegan, what to eat in certain cities, favourite recipes, useful websites – and I absolutely love answering them all. The idea that someone is considering spending a few days/months/years enjoying a vegan lifestyle is so exciting to me and if I can help, oh I will. Because I know how daunting it can be at first – and how isolating it can seem – so if I can help at all, I will. I became vegetarian in 1999 and vegan in 2005, and I’ve had a fair few questionable vegetable fingers and curdled lattes over the years. Let’s try and avoid them together.

That’s why I launched The Nod Magazine. You can navigate through themes like Travel, Eating Out and Editor’s Letters (not to be missed, obv). You’ll also find our monthly recommendations, exciting new product launches, news from the vegan grapevine and interviews with our favourite business owners. Thanks for stopping by, we hope you enjoy your stay!
