Take 5: Brunch spots in Brighton

It’s Sunday morning. You’ve got a sore head. We’ve all been there. Where to go to fix this? Thankfully, plenty of people in Brighton feel exactly the same way as you do this morning, and there’s a menu to suit everyone. Here are our top five food fixes.

This place really does cater for everyone. It’s 100% vegetarian, with at least 50% of the menu being vegan, and they serve brunch dishes all day, so you can crawl out of bed in your own time. Our favourite? It’s a toss-up between the full English breakfast and the three-story stack of pancakes. With plenty of coffee.

The Longhouse Cafe

Arriving in early 2017, The Longhouse Cafe serves some of the best avocado toast we’ve eaten. They offer a menu of ‘brunchy’ dishes throughout the day, more suited for a refreshing wake up than full-proof hangover remedy, as well as Glazed donuts and an array of raw and non-raw treats. They also host regular events and workshops, and you can buy the plants hanging in the cafe.

Although you’ll normally find us here at lunchtime (always ordering the hickory chick burger with sweet potato fries), VBites do a bloody good breakfast menu, including full and half English breakfasts, a ‘bacon’ or ‘sausage’ sandwich and tarragon mushrooms, hummus, spinach on toast (how good does that sound?!).

Another vegetarian cafe with plenty of vegan options, their breakfast menu is available until 11am and includes fresh fruit and granola, a full English breakfast and something that resembles an egg McMuffin that is truly delicious! They also make fresh juice and smoothies, and great coffee.

Infinity Foods

Brighton legends, Infinity Foods have been around for decades. A local cooperative, they run a 100% vegetarian shop and a 100% vegetarian, and mostly vegan, cafe round the corner. Similar to the menu at Iydea, you’ll find healthy smoothies and full English breakfasts alike.
